Reception 2027 Admissions

If your child was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023 or your child has agreement to delay entry to primary education until September 2027,  you will need to apply for a new reception school place to your home local authority.  

We would love for you to choose Cotham Gardens as your choice for your child's first year at school, and we're confident that our brilliant teachers and facilities would make this the right choice!

PAN Update

The Board of Trustees for Cotham Gardens Primary School has now determined the admission arrangements for the 2027/2028 academic year.

As part of this determination, the Pupil Admission Number (PAN) to be admitted to Reception has been reduced from 60 to 30, effective from 1st September 2027.

This decision follows a full consultation process held between 21st October 2025 and 2nd December 2025, during which parents, carers, staff, the Local Authority and other stakeholders were invited to provide feedback

Cotham Gardens Primary School is an academy and we follow the Bristol City Council admissions policy.

All applications should be made via Bristol City Council Admissions by 15th January 2027.

Offers of school places for on time applications will be sent on 16 April 2027.

Applications received after 15th January 2027 will be processed by Bristol City Council after the initial round of allocations is complete on 16th April 2027.

The final date and time for making limited changes to an existing application for the initial round of allocations is midnight on 19 January 2027. See change your reception place application.

The second round of allocations will be from May 2027.
