Coronavirus Catch-Up Funding
Cotham Gardens expect to receive around £45,000 of one-off, additional funding in 2020/21 as part of the Government's coronavirus Catch up premium.
This funding is designed to help school to identify and support pupils who have fallen back in their learning over lockdown, with the aim of helping them to catch back up. Schools should use this funding for specific activities to support our pupils to catch up for lost teaching over the previous months, in line with curriculum expectations. While we can use the funding in a way that suits our cohort and circumstances, we are expected to use this funding for specific activities which will help pupils catch up on missed education.
Cotham Gardens has invested significant time and resources into identifying our affected pupils, and intend to overspend on our Catch-up Premium budget on implementing our plans, using some of our financial reserves to complement the government funding. We strongly believe that this one-off investment is an excellent use of a portion of our reserves; our pupils only get one chance at receiving a good Primary education and we will continue to do everything we can to ensure that all our pupils, no matter their background, receive the best possible education.
