Cotham Gardens Primary is a Co-operative Academy Trust and the governors are also the Academy Trust Trustees.
The purpose of governance is to provide confident, strategic leadership and to create robust accountability oversight and assurance for educational and financial performance.
Our strategic Vision
In January 2020 our board of trustees agreed our 5 year strategic plan, covering the period 2020-2025. This document was drafted by key governors and the school leadership team after consultation with school stakeholders. Our consultation process included surveying parents, staff and local community members, as well as analysis of current OFSTED appraisal and in-school data.

The 3 core functions of the governing board are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
- Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent

The governing body is made up of parent governors, staff governors, community governor, co-opted governors, the headteacher (principal professional adviser) and the School Business Manager (non-voting attendee).
